Many elegant homes from the turn of the 20th century are being renewed in South Hill.
Located just to the south of Heritage Hill, the largest historic district in the nation, South Hill contains much of the same beautiful architecture as its northern neighbor.
You'll find elegant mansions, attractively renovated apartments, and a great mix of neighbors.
Downtown, the Heartside district, GVSU, GRCC, Pleasant Park, the Downtown Market, Wealthy St. Bakery and St. Mary's Hospital are a short walk or bike ride away.
Long considered the "hippest" part of Grand Rapids, Eastown is known for its distinctive feel.
Unique restaurants and coffee houses, a wide variety of night life, book stores, art-related stores, antique shops and a wonderful variety of homes are all found nearby.
You can listen to live bands, have an authentic gyro, meet friends at the Kava House or Wolfgang's, or go to the Eastown Street Fair.and you're still only two miles from Downtown.
The neighborhood surrounding Garfield Park is a diverse mix of homes, people and businesses.
You can find elegant old homes surrounding the park, authentic Mexican restaurants on Division, and a dozen churches within a mile.
Garfield Park offers playgrounds, a Frisbee golf course, tennis and basketball courts, a dog park and a nature preserve.
The new Kroc/Salvation Army Recreation Center was recently built on the south end of the neighborhood, and the new Silver Line high-speed bus line on Division is one block away.
The corner of Stocking, Bridge and Lexington Streets is the retail center of the West Side, where you'll find many restaurants, night spots and grocery stores.
The beautiful churches of St. Adalbarts, St. Mary's and St. James are within blocks.
Harmony Hall Brewing, Maggie's, Salvatore's, Blue Dog Tavern, New Holland Brewing and Bridge St. Market are here.
Plans for new businesses are being announced regularly.
The condos at Union Square, American Seating Park and the Widdicomb complex are beautiful historic buildings with amazing renewed life.
